China National Cable Engineering Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CCC) and Ceylon Electricity Board (hereinafter referred to as the Employer) signed the Contract for Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme (Tranche 2), Package 1: Lot B-220kV Transmission Lines. With the full support of the Employer, under the high attention of the Project Director and the Project Manager of the Employer, the Contract entered into force from 8th august 2018, and the commencement ceremony was held successfully on 2nd august 2018.
The Polpitiya-Hambantota 220kV transmission line project is an important part of the power system in central and southern areas of Sri Lanka, and is the longest transmission line in Sri Lanka. The transmission line will provide the southern province of Sri Lanka with high quality and reliable electricity supply, which will accelerate economic development of this region.
The Project Director and the Project Manager of the Employer gave inspiring speeches at the ceremony. Although the transmission line is long and in some areas the construction could be difficult, but the Employer recognizes CCC’s technical strength and ability of execution. The Employer expressed their good wishes for completion of the project on time with good quality. Mr. Li Haitao, Deputy General Manager and Mr. He Xingliang, Project Director of CCC then gave important speeches, saying that CCC would do its best to ensure the successful completion of the project.
The success of the commencement ceremony is a good start for the project, CCC will work together with the Employer, and do its utmost to achieve a win-win situation. The commencement ceremony built a good foundation for the successful completion of the project.
